Receiving Inventory Basics

Intake (Receiving Raw Materials, Packaging & Finished Goods)

Intake (Receiving Raw Materials, Packaging & Finished Goods)

  • Delivery & Verification – Incoming raw materials (e.g., cannabis flower, concentrates, ingredients), packaging components (labels, jars, boxes), and finished goods from co-packers or suppliers are received and checked against purchase orders.

  • Documentation – All items are logged into the ERP or inventory system with purchase order references, batch/lot numbers, and supplier details to ensure traceability.

  • Quality Assurance (QA/QC) – Materials and products are inspected for compliance with specifications; non-conforming items are quarantined or rejected.

  • Storage – Approved goods are placed into designated storage areas (cold storage, dry storage, secure vaults), with clear labeling, lot/batch tracking, and separation of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to prevent mix-ups.
